Character Profiles // Lykouleon

Name: Lykouleon
Gender: Male
Role: Dragon Lord
Race: Dragon
Image Color: White and Gold
Hair Color: Blonde
Eye Color: Green
First Appearance: vol. 2
Last Appearance: vol. 26

Lykouleon is the Dragon Lord and sole protector of Dusis. His blood, which is virtually pure light, is extremely powerful and prevents demons from entering the Dragon Castle. The only demons allowed within the castle are those who side with the Dragon Tribe, such as Zoma and Cesia. His blood is poisonous to touch, and very few have the ability to survive it. Bierrez is one of the few demons able to enter the Dragon Castle since he was successfully able to absorb some of the Dragon Lord’s blood.

Lykouleon is very caring and generous, as well as forgiving and protective. He constantly throws himself into danger to protect those who are close to him. When Nadil kidnaps his queen, he goes alone to fight to win her back, ignoring the danger.

In volume 12, Tetheus mentions that the previous Dragon Lord also fought against Nadil, and Lord Lykouleon has inherited this difficult task. In order to combat the Demon Lord, Lykouleon has assembled the Dragon Knights.

Even though he is burdened by these great responsibilities, Lykouleon likes to travel. He hates being pent up inside the castle and goes to great lengths to escape the castle and adventure on his own.

He loves Raseleane very much, and wants nothing more than to protect her from Nadil's evil ways. Even after she loses her Dragon Eyes, he refuses to give her up and vows to protect her. Lykouleon is deeply concerned about Rath and the way he feels, and he wants Rath to have faith in the Dragon Tribe despite the things that happened to him in the past. He feels very strongly that all the lives given for Rath were not wasted, and he wants to be able to protect him from his own inner demons. Nothing will make him regret having given his blood and flesh to turn Rath into a human child, and he's grown to care very deeply for his only heir.

SPOILER ENDING WARNING

In previous volumes, it is hinted that Lykouleon is dying, shown by blood appearing around his arm and hands. In volume 26, he does in fact die, though his spirit appears with Rath, aiding him when the Dragon Knight fires the fatal bullet that kills Nadil.
