Tetheus was once completely youkai and is the brother of Shydeman and Shyrendora. During a time of great war, Tetheus was separated from his siblings and left alone, believing that his only family was dead. After being saved from lonliness by Lykouleon, he devoted himself to help the Dragon Tribe, becoming the Black Dragon Officer and bearer of the Black Dragon Crystal. His duty at the Dragon Castle is to watch after and protect the castle and its people. He follows the rules and helps Alfeegi to enforce them, and his silent nature only seems to be broken when he becomes angry that people aren't doing as they are told. He wants to be able to protect all those within the Dragon Castle by any means. Tetheus is greatly angered whenever someone threatens Lykouleon or the Dragon Castle, and he is quick to offer whatever aid he possibly can.
Despite his unusually silent and unapproachable nature, Tetheus cares very deeply for the Dragon Tribe, even though he doesn't openly show it. He believes that Lykouleon had brought him into a new family and for this he feels a great debt exists that he must repay to the Dragon Tribe for all everything they've given him. Tetheus also cares a great deal for Raseleane, whom he is the most likely to reveal his softer side around.
He has encountered and fought with his brother and sister, as well as fought with Sabel during the attack on the Dragon Castle. It's during these fights that we first see him actually use his powers and materialize his sword.
Also. He is ridiculously strong and a very skilled fighter. Tetheus was able to open Galaba's mouth with just one hand as well as defeat several demons without any problems. Though his main duty is to look over the Castle and basically serves as the defense, since the Red Dragon Officer was nowhere to be found at the time, he also served as the offense and basically headed all of security and military operations. Even though it is the Red Dragon Officer's duty to tell what the Dragon Knights are supposed to do, Tetheus had the authority to also instruct the Knights to look for a demon who could travel freely between their realm and the demon realm (ie, Sabel). He also goes out on trips to check on various towns and see that everything is holding up.
Tetheus also has the ability to sense demons, a possible connection to his old demon self. Whenever demons are near, his eyes will turn/glow a crimson red. He is also able to sense when Dark Cesia and Rath fought one another the first time. He also always seen wearing a hawt awesome trenchcoat, the first time being a possible white or beige color, and then later wearing all black. He is one of the few characters who never get an outfit change (though his coat changed, his main clothes never did) AND he is one of the few male characters to never wear high heels. He's 100% man, dammit.
SPOILER ENDING WARNING
In the final battle, Tetheus fights with Shydeman for the second time, and this time he actually kills his brother, becoming a full Dragon. It's also plausible that he has some sort of relationship with Kitchel, especially after their first encounter in volume 8. At the end of volume 26, during the celebration, there a few panels with Kitchel trying to give him some food, which, under the disgust and disbelief of his subordinates, he actually eats with some trepidation. These are the only panels that show Tetheus without his usual stern, straight face, and that usually only occurs around Kitchel. As with Lykouleon, he seems to have a sort of soft side around her. ThatzxKitchel shippers should cry right about now...if they even still exist xD
